The (un) forgiving servant

Open arms are

all I’m calling for-

giveness of my sin

Yet if I can’t

let go of this grudge

this gun I’m holding to my brother’s

chest

How

can I expect

my Father to let me in?

Oh teacher how

if seven times my

Brother sins ‘gainst me today

Or seven more,

Heaven forbid,

can I forgive

Transgressions made?

Open arms are

all I’m calling for-

giveness of my sin,

yet if I can’t

let go of this grudge

this gun I’m holding to my brother’s

chest

How

can I expect

my Father to let me in?

How on bended knee

shall I beg for clemency?

Oh mother

We poor souls

that keep on

forgetting how we’ve been redeemed

I beg to thee

as a servant freed

please lay this message at my savior’s

feet
